A Happy Pet Inc. is an Illinois corporation that provides in-home pet care, including dog walking, vacation and drop-in visits, house sitting, overnight care, and pet transportation. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at ahappypet.com and through our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to clients, website visitors, and the contractors and employees who work with us.

We collect only the information we need to run our business and operate our website.

Client and pet information. When you sign up or use our services, we collect your name, home address, phone number, and email address. We also collect what we need to care for your pet, such as your emergency contact, your veterinarian’s details, your pet’s details, feeding times, medication notes, behavior notes, and vaccination records.

Home access and security information. For in-home services, we collect the access details we need to enter and secure your home, such as directions, floor or unit number, keys or lockbox or entry codes, alarm codes and your alarm company’s details, the name and phone number of any additional key holder you give us, and any home tasks you request such as mail, lights, or plant care.

Contractor and employee information. When someone works with us as a contractor or employee, we collect their name, address, email address, phone number, and the related details we need to assign work, communicate, and meet our legal and tax duties.

Website and usage information. When you visit the Site, we collect basic usage information through Google Analytics, such as your device type, browser, pages viewed, and general activity on the Site. We use essential cookies that allow the Site and the member login to work.

We collect information in three ways. You give it to us directly through forms, your account, email, phone, or text. We collect it automatically through cookies and Google Analytics when you use the Site. We receive it when you add or update your household profile or pet details.

We use two kinds of cookies.

Essential cookies keep the website and the member login working. The Site cannot function properly without them.

Analytics cookies come from Google Analytics and help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can keep it working well. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not run ads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Our Your Privacy Choices page explains these options.

We use your information only to run our business and operate the website. That includes scheduling and delivering pet care, communicating with you, handling billing and payment, caring for your pet safely, managing our contractors and employees, keeping the Site working, and meeting our legal, tax, and regulatory duties.

We do not use your information for marketing or advertising.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing or other purposes.

We use a small number of service providers to run the business and the website, such as our website host, our analytics provider, and our payment processor. These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us, and they may not use it for their own purposes.

We may disclose information when the law requires it, such as a valid legal request, a tax or regulatory filing, or a matter involving law enforcement or legal claims.

We store information on servers located in the United States. We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect it, consistent with the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act. If a breach of personal information occurs, we will notify affected Illinois residents as Illinois law requires.

We do not collect biometric information such as fingerprints or facial scans.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to provide services and meet our legal duties.

You can delete your account in two ways. Use the Delete Account feature on the homepage, or send a written request by email to the owner at info@ahappypet.com. We will delete the account and its details within 48 hours of the request.

Account deletion cannot be undone once it starts. The only information we keep after deletion is information we are required to retain for legal, regulatory, tax, or law-enforcement and legal-reporting purposes.

Our website and services are for people aged 16 or older. This is because we are a business offering a paid service, not because the Site contains mature content. We do not direct the Site to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 16, we will delete it.

You have choices about cookies, account deletion, and the messages you receive from us. Our Your Privacy Choices page explains them. You can also contact us using the details in Section 12.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the Last Updated date at the top of this page. If you have an account, we will also flag the update in the to-do box on your portal homepage, where you can review and acknowledge it.
